So long E2! Last week i've spotted some cracks on my white pearl colored helmet. This cycling helmet was my number 1 favorite brain bucket among all my helmets. Aero looks, doesn't look exagerated, well engineered ventilation system to keep my head cool during hot weather, extremely light and doesn't feel anything on top of my head and guess what its was build in the late 90's when engineeering quality was at its peak. Yes this GIRO E2 helmet is almost 23 year old since i bought in 1998 after failed to get my hands on GIRO EXODUS (*Hint: my car designed named after this). Coincidentally this helmet is old as my website 'SupermotoXL Designs' since Geocities.com days before Yahoo takes over (Anyone remember NETSCAPE?) ....that was my days when i was still in college, lol! With this pearl white brain bucket as my speed crown we had great nostalgic adventures on two wheels; venture into the deep wild forest of Borneo, long distance cross country journey through states, group cycling, intense cycling races (yup, i won some) and was a great bike commuting companion to work from my first job till the end. That helmet lives with me daily! Now old, worn out and finally cracked its inner protective foam structure its time to put this nostalgic helmet to rest. I'm not planning to keep it as nostalgic momentos on my cupboard but sadly i going to thrown straight inside the garbage bin because keeping it will cause mental attachment and ended hoarding too much stuff at home. Took some pictures for memorable digital archives and then honourly depart to the garbage bin. Its better that way so i can move on my life with another helmet. Of course 1x gone got 5x helmets to go,lol!. But i'm glad i've used my protective gear to its fullest rather than spending on marketting hype buying new stuff every year like most cyclist does. Anyway i still rode on 1997 GIRO SWITH BLADE helmet that still looks tough and usable to this day. Ride till the end baby!
