Regardless of what R/C plane you're flying, flying direct into a heavy head wind in open sun 86place such as near beaches is safer and best way to fly without risk stall problem. I'd rather fly in heavy windy condition than none. To fly a kite; the heavier gusty wind the easier it floats; same principal goes for R/C planes..the wings are build for the wind.  Its easy to take off and land in windy condition. Sometimes i can do lots of cool crazy aerobatic maneuvers, able to float and land like helicopter. Just see my Pitts Special video flying in the gusty wind below.
